What's new in Magpie

Every change an owner or a caller would notice, dated. Magpie updates itself: there is nothing to install, and your line keeps answering while it does.

  • Not in Jobber? It says why. A job that didn't reach your Jobber now says why in plain words, with a Send it again button.
  • The call back Dana promised, kept. If Dana told a caller "Rick will call you after 3" and nobody has reached them by 3:30, you get a ping and a text. Once.
  • Your words, heard right. Teach Dana your street names, towns, brands and crew names. Add one straight from a call where she misheard.
  • Your booking rules. Visit length, the earliest she books, a gap between visits, and how far ahead. She can't offer a time that breaks them.
  • What Dana always asks. Pick the questions you want answered on every new call, such as a gate code, and mark the ones she must get before the caller goes. Never on an emergency.
  • Your price list, from a PDF or a photo. She answers from it, with every price exactly as written, and you see what she read.
  • Moves and cancels on the call. A caller can move or cancel their visit with Dana, and it changes in your diary or your software.
  • Callers who speak Spanish are answered in Spanish, start to finish.
  • "This call is recorded" is said wherever the law asks, including the caller's own state.
  • Web leads called in under a minute. Your website form, and Angi, Thumbtack or Google once you connect them.
  • You're in control. Block a number, always put someone through, away, vacation and days off, in the app or by text.
  • How Dana did, on every call. Not how you'd want it? Tell her, in the app or by text ("teach: we don't do septic").

16 October 2026

  • Dana remembers who called. A returning customer hears "Is this Dale?" instead of starting over, and their address is checked, not asked again.
  • Dana follows up. Customers who didn't book are called back at the time they asked for, and the ones she wins back land on your board.
  • A new look for the app, on every screen.
  • Visit times said from today: "Tomorrow at 11 AM", never a date to work out.

15 October 2026

  • A dropped call is picked back up. If a call cuts off partway through a booking, Dana rings back in about two minutes and carries on where it stopped. Only for callers who said yes to a call back.
  • Addresses read back the way people say them, with the unit after the street.

14 October 2026

  • Emergencies put through. Whoever is on call is rung first and presses 1 to take it, then the next person on your list, then you. If nobody takes it, Dana goes back to the caller and everyone gets an alert.

13 October 2026

  • Call customers back from your computer, from the app, showing your business number.
